Tournament Guidelines
Registration
All registration for tournaments are required to be into Jay by 10am the Friday before the tournament. Any entries
received after that will not be included in the tournament. Send an email with wrestlers name, age, weight and
ranking. You will receive a confirmation from Jay that it was received. If you don't receive that confirmation call Jay to
verify receipt.

Payments
All payments for the tournament will be in a form of a single check to the hosting club. This helps check ins be
quicker and smoother. This was agreed upon at the coaches meeting at the beginning of the season.  If a team fails
to pay any tournament fees they will be required to pay for the team prior to being bracketed.

No Shows
If there are any no shows to a tournament the team is still responsible for the cost of that wrestler.

If a wrestler becomes ill or is unable to make it for unforeseen circumstances coaches are required to notify Jay or
the tournament director before the close of check ins.  A phone call must be made,
EMAIL WILL NOT SUFFICE!

If a team has more then 4 wrestlers as no shows and there is no notification of absentees the team will be charged
a $25 fine.If your team or wrestlers will not be attending a phone call must be made. Email will not suffice because
league officials are setting up the tournament and will not be near a computer. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Late Arrivals
If a wrestler is running late to a tournament you must contact the tournament director or the check in table. If a
wrestler arrives after 8:30am to the tournament and hasn't notified the front table or Jay or tournament director they
will be scratched from the tournament. The team will still be responsible for the fees of that wrestler.

Weights
PPWL uses scratch weights.  If there is one wrestler in a weight bracket, every effort will be made to move them to
another weight bracket.  If movement of the wrestler(s) requires them to go up a weight that will be done within
limits.  Factors that are considered, the weights of the other wrestlers, the experience or ranking of the wrestlers.  If
there are questions about the movement a phone call will be attempted to verify that the move is OK.  This will only
occur if there is a question.

It was agreed upon at the beginning of the season that spot weight checks can be conducted at the tournaments.  If
a wrestlers isn't within 3 lbs of their weight a wrestler will be disqualified.  The fees will NOT be returned.  If a
wrestler on a team is found to be above weight the entire team maybe required to weight in prior to competing.  This
is for the safety of the wrestlers.  We want to do this so that we're not required to do weight ins prior to tournaments.
